The first day - Program 2
3 – 5 Hours in the Afternoon Introducing the Danube Region staring in Senec – Senec Express – Slnečné jazerá – Aquapark - Refreshments
We will visit the town Senec / www.senec.sk / located 25 km from Bratislava. It is a recognized summer tourism centre. To mention some historic sights, there is the 16th century Whipping Post, gothic church of Bishop St. Nicolas, originally from the 14th century, Turkish House from the 16th century – one of the oldest renaissance buildings in Slovakia.
In summer, there is the favorite sightseeing bus – Senec Express / www.hv.sk /, where you also buy tickets for the Sun Lakes (Slnečné jazerá). It runs in regular hourly intervals from the main square in Senec, around the lakes and back. Depending on own selection, you may leave the train, if you prefer swimming in the natural lakes over the aquapark, or if any of the many events attracted you. Soon, there will be another train – the Holiday Express.

The complex of Slnečné jazerá /www.slnecnejazerasenec.sk/belongs to the most visited summer holidaz centres in Slovakia. Water surface of these lakes covers 116 ha. Visitors may use extensive recreation options, go for summer sports, make use of accommodation, food, entertainment and social facilities. The pleasant atmosphere is supported by many events forming part of the Senec summer. The most popular ones include the Big Summer Festival and Music Festivals. |
Aquapark Senec is a recreation-relaxation water world with year-round use for all age categories. The Aquapark offers its visitors 9 pools with various temperatures with both outdoor and indoor use. The indoor hall offers a recreation pool with attractions and resting pools with temperatures between 32 – 36 °C.

For children, there is a children’s pool. A must is a sauna complex, massage whirlpools and a toboggan (starting and ending in the indoor hall). Food and refreshments are also found in this complex. The outdoor facilities form 2/3 of the aquapark. There is a swimming pool with water temperature between 26 – 28°C. Through a canal pool, you get to the pool hall. Slides and a toboggan lead to the smaller outdoor pool. It also includes deckchairs and parasols. The complex also includes beach and playground.
